4 August 2010 - Just back from Speyfest and it was an absolute blast! My first venture into marquee craft fairs went with a real swing. Definitely booking for next year, although I may pack my wellies as the rain was mental!

10 July 2010 - The first edition of Original Words is out today. This is the Omand Original Newsletter that I'm only sending out to people on my mailing list, so get signed up NOW at the Contact Omand Original page.

22 June 2010 - Omand Original hits Dunfermline! As part of a gallery venture with CAD (Contemporary Arts Dunfermline) you can see artwork by me in the temporary CAD gallery in the Kingsgate Centre in Dunfermline. My art will be on display from 8th - 22nd July, and I will be there myself with easel and brush, painting in public (EEEK!) on Monday and Thursday mornings in that time. If you can't make it in time to see me or my work, do go along anyway and show your support for CAD and the Arts in Dunfermline. The Gallery is open every day from 5th July to 15th August from 10 til 4.

5 June 2010 - What do you think of the new website then? I thought it was about time I did a shift round to the "virtual furniture" so I hope you like it. There are lots of new features and fancy bits - like a different picture on the front page every time you visit the site, a browsable gallery and a catalogue index page and a new contact page where you can send me messages or join the mailing list. If you do join the mailing list I will send you the odd email with events reminders and special offers that you won't even find on Facebook, so it will be worth doing! The first offer is a personalised Father's Day card and there will be other Specials like this throughout the year. Anyway, take the opportunity to browse round the new site and let me know, either via the contact page or Facebook, what you think!

24 March 2010 - First Craft fairs are only a matter of days away. Keep an eye on the Events section for dates, times and places. Really looking forward to seeing you all there!

5 February 2010 - Paintings on Display! Hopefully within the next few days you will be able to see Omand Original artwork on display in The Duddingston Arms at Newton and the Halfway House Hotel at Kingseat near Dunfermline.

4 January 2010 - Happy New Year! And with the New Year comes the Omand Original Clearance Sale. Look out for bargains in Christmas items, small calendars and bargain boxes of stationery or birthday cards. Many items half price or less and there will even be a few original paintings available so that I can make space for new work this year. Just click on the CLEARANCE SALE on the menu to bag an Omand Original bargain but remember that stock is strictly limited and when they're gone they're gone!

21 December 2009 - Well it's holiday time again and there are going to be odd days when I'm not going to be able to check my email over the next fortnight. Rest assured though that, if you place an order between now and 4th of January, it will not be ignored! I will send a confirmation to you as soon as I am able and will get your order off to you shortly thereafter. Bear in mind that there will also be days when the postal service is on holiday, so your order may take longer than normal to arrive. Everything should be back to normal as of 4th January. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and art-filled 2010!

1 December 2009 - Omand Original now has a page on Facebook ® . Click on the "Find Us on Facebook®" link at the top of this website to go to the Omand Original page and Become a Fan to get sneak previews of work in progress and regular updates of what is going on in the Omand Original world.

6 October 2009 - If it's October it must be time to start thinking about Christmas! All the high street shops now have their cards and calendars on sale and Omand Original is no different. In the new CHRISTMAS! gallery you will find Christmas cards and gift tags, parcel labels, calendars of all different shapes and sizes and even a specially written Christmas poem and picture book about Sunty McClaus! Below is a wee snippet, but to get the full story you'll just have to buy the book!

Translations from Doric (Aberdeenshire) to English available if you ask very nicely! All the Christmas items, including the book, will be available to buy online until Christmas and at various Christmas craft fairs in November. See the Events section below for more details. Please order before the 14th of December to ensure delivery for Christmas.

24 August 2009 - Eight of my paintings are going on show at the Fife Craft Fair Exhibition in Lochgelly in September, along with a variety of work by other craft association members. Please see the Events section for details of opening times. All of the work in the exhibition will be for sale. I also hope to see a lot of you at the Lochgelly Centre on the 5th of September for the Fife Craft Association craft fair, where you will be able to see (and buy!) the rest of my current paintings and the full Omand Original product range.

3 August 2009 - Just received word that the Dunfermline craft fair on 8th August has been CANCELLED due to a lack of interested exhibitors. So the next craft fair that Omand Original will be at will be in the Lochgelly Centre on 5th September. You will also have an opportunity to see some of my paintings at the Fife Craft Association Exhibition in the Lochgelly Centre throughout the month of September.

31 July 2009 - We are now able to offer faster delivery times on small items such as cards and bookmarks. These will now normally be despatched the next working day. As usual you will be informed on your order confirmation when to expect delivery and, as ever, postage and packing on every order for delivery within the UK is still FREE.

18 July 2009 - That's been an eventful month, but not in the way I'd hoped. Thanks to all who attended the fair at Portsoy, it was good to see you all there. And a major apology to all those expecting to see Omand Original at the Cullen fairs. Due to a family bereavement I had to cancel both fairs at the last minute. I will let you know when I'm next in the area and hopefully nothing will prevent my attendance next time.

18 June 2009 - There's a few new Events on the Calendar. For THREE WEEKENDS in July I will be up on the Moray coast at craft fairs. The first of these is a two day event at Portsoy to coincide with the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival. Then, for the next 2 weekends, I will be in Cullen Town Hall. I hope you can come along and support us all.

14 April 2009 - A small exhibition of my paintings has been arranged by Fife Craft Association. I have been given some wall space at The White Chimneys Cafe in Pitscottie in Fife until 7th May to exhibit and hopefully sell some paintings and prints. See below for more details.

30 March 2009 - Omand Original is now a member of the Fife Craft Association! This means more craft fairs and other exhibition opportunites so keep an eye on the Events section for dates, times and places.

20 January 2009 - The first craft fairs have been booked. Please see the Events section for dates, times and places. I will have a stall at each of these events, showing as much of the range as I can. If you don't see what you're looking for at the fair, remember you can always order from the Gallery at any time of year.

15 January 2009 - The range is now complete! I've finally added stationery boxes to the Gallery. Two different sets are available so far with more to come. On a different note, now that the New Year seems like a distant memory (or am I getting old - I forget) it is the time of year to start getting craft fairs organised. Keep an eye on the Events section as the list of fairs will grow over time. Remember, if you are unable to attend a fair you can always book an Omand Original At Home event and let my craft fair stand come to you!

1 January 2009 - Happy New Year! Lots of new items are now available in the Gallery including a new range of bookmarks and limited edition prints. My New Year's resolution is to do one a week, so you'll be able to keep track of whether I'm keeping this up. Enjoy!

25 November 2008 - Payment by credit and debit cards or PayPal account is now available as well as the option to pay by cheque. Payments are accepted through the PayPal system but you don't need a PayPal account to use it, just a valid email address and your credit or debit card. See the How to Order page for more information.

24 November 2008 - The first painting is now available for sale from the Gallery. It is called New Day and is done in acrylic on a 40.5cm x 15.25 cm canvas (roughly 16 inches by 6 inches). The idea came to me when I opened the curtains at stupid o'clock one morning and our cat Spike was sitting gazing out of the window. His silhouette against the colours from the sky and the lamp-post made a lovely contrast. As well as the original, the picture will be available shortly on prints, cards, stationery and bookmarks.

10 November 2008 - Welcome to Omand Original! The new website is now up and running and I hope you like it.
